Demographics in the North American workplace are changing faster than in the past. Ethnicity, religions, sexual orientations, age, various skilled and disabilities, levels of education and languages are more important than ever before.

Furthermore, customer’s awareness has also changed, therefore, expectation of services provided are extremely high. Astute businesses need to be aware of these changing requirements and attitudes.

Many businesses are beginning to serve their customers in other languages than in English. Due to the high number of immigrants from other countries: Cantonese, Mandarin, Punjabi, Filipino, Spanish, and Farsi are some of the languages spoken in the workplace.

Businesses that want to survive in the coming years need to be able adapt to these on – going significant changes. Because we all know what happened to the dinosaurs that failed to adapt. They did not survive. And businesses are no different!
